I’m continually fascinated by what people are driving—or sometimes, may never drive again. My approach is capturing visuals of “things” in a way that helps contribute to the conversation of who we are today, in relation to the things people drive. The instagram collection is focused on capturing the cars, trucks, vans, campers, and anything else I see, flattening them into the backdrop where they exist.
One theme that developed for me was the appearance of vans in New York City, where they serve as work transport or home, and often over time accumulate and maintain the character of a block. “VANYC” is an ongoing project documenting vans across the 5 boros, and will hopefully one day be a book on your coffee table. I also created different t-shirt designs, which you may still see your friends wearing today:)
